Plan Information |
Empire District Electric Company DRIP Details:
The AGL Resources Direct Stock Investment Plan offers a mediocre holding vehicle for your Empire investment unless you already own Empire stock. The Empire DRIP requires you to own at least 1 share prior to enrolling in the plan, but the plan offers no account setup fees, lower than average optional stock investment fees, no dividend reinvestment fees, and a discount on reinvested dividends. For most individual investors who don't already own Empire Distrcit Electric stock, a low cost brokerage such as Sharebuilder will be the lowest cost holding vehicle for your EDE investment given the expense of purchasing 1 share in your name to enroll in the plan.
Pros:
No account setup fee
Lower than average optional investment fees
No dividend reinvestment fees
Dividends are reinvested at 97% of the preceding three day trading average of the EDE stock price
Cons:
Requires 1 share to enroll
Above average stock sale fee
